Food, is an integral part of life. It can be a daily sustenance, however I prefer to see food as a voyage of discovery, that lasts a lifetime, is always full of wonderful new discoveries that turn moments into memories.
I aim to share my favorites with you. You will need AdobeReader to open files.

Yet again winter is here. I love this Chinese Lamb Shank soup - it has medicinal properties so check before using the ingredients .
I did pause, for a moment or two, a little while ago when my children asked why I was reading a book whilst I was cooking? The book I was reading was a recipe book - but I suddenly realised that I rarely use recipe books, cooking more by instinct and judgment. Here is the recipe for my "Weekend Pancakes" - had to measure ingredient so the children could make - that is until they refine their cooking instincts!!!
Another winter dish. Christmas Pudding 2006 at Lindale was Cartmel Sticky Toffee pudding (was so delish could have been breakfast and supper too!!!). However, being poor colonialist in Oz, Cartmel is a little far away. Aunty Jill's Pud's a pretty good contender!

It's supposedly summer here and though we've had some very hot days - today is not one of them. These recipes are salivating regardless of the weather - enjoy!
YUMMY CROCODILE with PASTA will always bring back fond memories of our dinner at the Desert Cave in Coober Pedy and the fun that a 9 year old can have with pasta! A dish recreated and even better than the orig!

As you might have guessed, our children are into food - they didn't have much choice! And as well as being adventurous when dining out, they are proficient when it comes to cooking. Earlier this year we gave them each a list of 6 key ingredients and asked them to design a three course meal which they cooked largely unassisted. SEARED TUNA was one of the entrees and is now a firm family favourite.
I never used to eat TIRAMISU in Australia, those thick soggy sponge-finger biscuits - YUK! But in Venice I did a cooking class with Fulvia Sesani and brought three packets of Pavesini back with me. Now you can buy Pavesini in Australia (try the Mediterranean Wholesalers in Sydney Road Melb) leaving more room for other Venetian shopping and making Tiramisu a more regular event.
EGG-NOG; OK, it's a little late for Christmas and I little early for Christmas in July, but if you're having a party anytime of the year, this is yummy! Note this is adapted from a 60s recipe and the quantities are reduced to one-sixth!
